This being our first trip to Paris, we wanted to position our self in a location that would be out of the hustle and bustle of main tourist area, but still close enough to be an easy commute to all our points of interest.
Place de Clichy fit the bill for us, it is an easy metro trip to all the attractions and in an area that was quieter and easier on the pocket book.
Clichy is located in the north west part of Paris, at the cross roads of 4 districts. ( the 8th, 9th, 17th and 18th ) Clichy is favoured by many Parisians, because of it’s wide variety of restaurants, theatres, coffee shops as well Clichy is pedestrian friendly, so wether your on foot, cycling or taking the metro Clichy may be the right place to start or end your great adventure.
We found that getting to the metro was easy with plenty of stations through out the area, Uber is also widely available an d an affordable option, I particularly liked the Uber option as most vehicles had air conditioning. We arrived in the middle of the heat wave and the metro was very hot and stuffy.
We chose to stay in an Airbnb’s through out our European vacation and had great experiences at all our destinations, staying with super-hosts.
